Optimist Club of Jasper Foundation
The Optimist Club of Jasper Foundation (OCJF) was formed as a separate 501©3 non-profit to allow donations from club fundraisers to be kept separate from the general operations budget of the club. It also was established to give donors an opportunity to receive a tax deduction (if qualified) for their gift.
All funds from our 3 major fundraisers (golf tournament, Flapjack 5K and pecan sales) are deposited into the Foundation account. Each year the Foundation establishes a budget based on planned fundraisers and determines how much money will be allocated to various projects, awards, scholarships as well as donations to other organizations that support the mission of helping our local youth.
Five trustees are selected from the club membership rosters who are not part of the club board of directors/officers. The trustees’ job is to determine and approve the annual foundation budget and oversee all funds that are requested for the projects and awards and donations.
The Optimist Club of Jasper maintains a separate Operations budget that is based on club member dues. There is no co-mingling of the funds.
